一昨日箕面市まで落語しにいきました。

そこでなんと、スロベニアの女性二人に会いました！

めっちゃ珍しいですよ。

ご存じと思いますが、私の両親はスロベニアからカナダに移民しましたので、私の血は１００％スロベニアですよ。

とてもとても嬉しかったです。

I went to perform Rakugo in Mino, outside Osaka two days ago, and got a huge surprise. 

I met not one, but two Slovenian young ladies, in the same day!!!

This is really a rare occurence in Japan.  If you don't believe me, try looking for Slovenians in Japan yourself, or anywhere else for that matter, outside of New Toronto and perhaps Cleveland (and Slovenia itself).

Marina lives here with her family, and Yasmina is a student studying Japanese.  She also speaks Korean and English (and is fluent in Slovenian as well!!!)

I really made my day!  Thanks ladies!

昨日、私の一番大好きなイタリアンレストランでランチのパスタ頼んだら、驚きました。

ビートパスタでした、人生初めてでございました！！ビート分かりますか？ボルシチで使われている野菜です。

パスタの色凄いですね！！

とてもとても美味しかったです。

Yesterday, before I headed off to Sasayama, I had a bit of lunch at my favourite Italian restaurant, La Lanterna.

I ordered the pasta of the day, but did I get a shock.  Look at the colour of this beet pasta!

It was actually quite deliciious, if a little bit unusual...

昨日篠山まで行きまして、１５０人の研究者の前で英語落語をやらせていただきました。

ネタはうちの師匠の「宿題：」、英語で"Homework".  日本語字幕も出しました。

Yesterday I went to Sasayama,. about one hour by train from Osaka, in the mountains of Kobe, to perform English Rakugo at a conference of young researchers.

I did my master's story "Homework".  It went really well.

I'm looiking forward to doing this story in Canada some day!!!

おととい深夜番組のじゃいけるまくそんで勉強させていただきました。

最近は舞台のパフォーマンスや落語は何となくなれてきたんですが、テレビはまだまだ難しいなぁ。

テレビで出てる芸人凄く尊敬しています。テレビ見るときに、あああ、かんたんやなぁと思われるけど、実際に出さしていただきまして、本当に難しいです。

これから頑張りますので、どうぞよろしくご応援のほど願わしゅう存じます。

The day before yesterday I had the opportunity to appear on TV on the popular midnight TV show Jaikel Makuson.  Although I've been having a great time on stage lately, and have been getting used to stage performance, whether there be 10 people in the audience or 2000, TV is a whole different ballgame. 

It looks like I'll have two or three opportunities again in the next couple of months, so I'll do my best!!!!

昨日三段兄さんと一緒に十三で吉本＠ホーム寄席で勉強させていただきました。

お客様はとてもよくて、めっちゃ楽しませていただきました！！！

Yesterday I had the opportunity to perform with older brother storyteller Sandan.  We entered the Yoshimoto Creative Agency together this year, but it was our first job together, which was very fun.  Hopefully we will both have work coming out of our ears in the coming months!!!

先日リーさんと一緒にM1の稽古を終えてから食べにでかけました。このラーメンの看板は面白かったけど、ラーメンの気分ではありませんでした。

リーはそうみえてもよく食べる人です。

When Lee and I finished rehearsing the other day we went out in search of food and found this model ramen outside a noodle shop.  We enjoyed the display, but didn't go in...

Next round of M1 is on the 21st!  Wish us luck!!!

昨日私は初めてなんばグランド花月の舞台に立ちました。ミドナイトコント花月というイベントで、もの凄いメンバーごご指導の下で勉強させていただきました。

私の出番時間はなんと、今朝4時でした！でも舞台上がったらびっくりしました。劇場はあの時間でもほぼ満席でした。昨日のイベントで私は一番若手でした（芸歴... 年齢は別の話し）。みんなさま凄く笑いをとりまして、とても充実しました。

でも今ちょっと眠いです。今日も頑張ります！

Yesterday I had my debut at the famous and historic Namba Grande Kagetsu Theatre in Osaka.  It was an all night comedy show from midnight to 5am.  I performed at 4am.

The list of performers comprised a who's who of Japans finest young comedians (Manzai and Solo Comedians).  I was proud to be the only Rakugo storyteller invited to perform (though I didn't perform Rakugo - I did a short Accordion comedy show.)

It was a huge honour to be invited to perform with such a cast.  And it was unbelievable that even at 4am, the theatre was packed!

I hope to have the opportunity to perform at NGK again soon!
